It seems unlikely that a hospital would close. Yet after over 30 years as a registered nurse, that is exactly what happened. I was laid off, out of work, and unprepared. Most of my colleagues were in the same situation. We found ourselves ill equipped to make decisions regarding IRA’s, retirement, social security, Medicare: part A, B, D, etc. We felt unsettled, confused, and ignorant of where to go for assistance. The hospital offered a RIDLT session for employees, and thankfully, representatives from Legacy Benefit Advisors were there. Their presentation made me realize these guys were “just what the doctor ordered”. I asked them if they would come to UNAP and speak to our members, and thankfully, they agreed.
